I just want to say how thankful that I am. It has been a wonderful year for me. Earlier this year my son found an online school auction about an hour and a half from me and they had a Northfield 12” jointer. There were only two pictures, and they were very poor. We decided to take a chance and were lucky enough to buy it at a price so low I would feel bad telling. We picked it up and took it home. About two hours cleaning with the wire brush and we had this. I had to get a VFD to run it but it runs like a champ. I put new carbide tipped blades on it and I love the way it cuts. It does not do as well in the figured wood as the 8” Delta did with the shelix head, but I am still quite pleased. We sold the Delta on Craigs list in two hours, and got double what we paid for the Northfield. Then earlier this month a friend of mine said he knew where I could get some Koa, and other wood from Hawaii. I went to look at it and brought this home! Couldn’t wait to make a few boxes. And a few ornaments. |
