Experience with Jet JCDC 3hp cyclone dust collector?

Local Craigslist has a Jet JCDC 3hp cyclone dust collector for $1500. Thoughts on Jet DC’s and a reasonable price? I’ve owned a Laguna C-Flux and it was underpowered and way over priced.

3 HP, 230V
1200 cfm
1 micron pleated filter
on/off remote
8” inlet w/4” split
static pressure 8.9”WC
66 gal chip drum
Height 88’‘
Length 30-7/16’‘
Width 57’‘

I’m considering getting rid of my home built 5” SDD with a 2 HP blower from an old Delta DC and a big pleated filter (0.5 micron) since it takes up so much space. This one is mobile

Redoak49 home \| projects \| blog 5088 posts in 2994 days #4 posted 11-19-2020 11:04 PM	I never know what to believe with the CFM reported by companies. Typically, they all give numbers that are way too high. I think that the 1200 cfm may actually what this unit will really provide. This looks to be the same design as the Laguna and is a short cone unit and not know for really good fine dust separation. The price is a bit high but depends on the exact age and usuage.
mtnwalton home \| projects \| blog 90 posts in 2031 days #5 posted 11-20-2020 03:42 AM	I have this same unit, over a year now. Very satisfied, using 4” pvc for main and secondary runs. Powerful unit. You may be able to get the price down some.
