I posted before about an HVAC vacuum pump I have and thinking about using.

I’m wondering if there can be an issue since it is oil based. I can’t seem to find much info about this. I see it as an option at Joe Woodworker.

I have no aversion to buying a ligit pump, but it I can use this 5cfm pump I would like to.

No experience, but I can’t imagine it being a problem. It’s designed to evacuate coolant systems, they can’t be contaminated.

I don’t have firsthand experience with an oil pump but I’ve read that they expel a fine oil mist while running which covers everything. I’m sure you could find a way around this (enclosure of sorts or only use it outside) but I believe that’s the main reason most are using an oil-less pump for their shops
