Looking for recommendations for replacing my original Powermatic 72 fence with a new more accurate fence. My saw in vintage, not a newer PM 72, and it has the original round tube bars with the metal fence. I would like something more accurate. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Also looking at adding a Shark Guard splitter.

You have a massive number of choices to pick from?

Make you own: http://www.twistedknotwoodshop.com/PDF%20Files/tsquarefence.pdf

Buy a Delta T2 fence. The T3 fence is smaller front tube intended for smaller saws.

Buy a used Biesemeyer fence. The show up often on CL or FB for < $200. They are made from heavier metal than Delta T2, and standard for T-square fences. Find them on old Delta and Powermatic saws. Biesemeyer originally sold the fence head in couple different lengths. Was 40-42" for standard 10" saws, and larger 44-48" for 12" saw like you PM 72. Newer PM 72 sold with same longer Accufence head, made by Biesemeyer. While the standard 42" head will extend past end of your table, might prefer the longer version if you can one?

Buy a used Unifence. They have a loyal following Harvey Tools has cloned the fence on current saws.

ShopFox sells a Biesemeyer clone W2005, and W1716 aluma classic which is lighter weight for smaller TS.

Buy a VSC tools fence.

Buy an Incra TS-LS fence.
Sawstop t-square fence is decent, and often see them NIB for sale by folks that upgrade to Incra.

You will find positive reviews for all these fences.
Table saw fence preference tends to bring passionate responses? lol

Have used all the ones above, except the T3 and Incra. None are bad choice.
I prefer Unifence on my TS.

There are a couple of other brands. Hopefully others post them…

Best Luck.

I saw your message about a PM 72 fence and I have one I am selling. My saw was made in 1972 and I have the fence, rails and hardware. The fence is massive -- bet it weighs at least 40 lbs -- and has an extra piece of aluminum or steel on the top. I've read where this is stock for some PM 72 fences. There is a piece of the casting that is broken-off, but it doesn't impact the operation and it is kind of hard to see. The rails are in poor shape, but usable. I've restored my saw, but done nothing with the fence. Going to got with a Bies. In the pic you can see the fence and rails. $250.

Best,
Joe
