Topic tags/keywords: question oak pine bandsaw milling traditional

I have an older Delta 28-195 10” band saw that says to use 72-1/2” blades. I know I can order blades in that size but can’t find anything local. I can find 72” all over the place in my area and am wondering if I can get away with the 72” on the saw. I don’t do any veneer sawing, just mainly for cutting wider 6-8” boards to 2” wide.
I know this saw isn’t really up for any real heavy usage.

If the upper wheel will lower enough to install the blade, it should be ok. You will need to try it. Highland hardware should have it or can make it.

Should work. Lower the wheel and wrap a tape around it see what you have.

That said, I order all my bs blades online I’ve found the ones at HD or Ace to be low quality.
