I personally wouldn't pay that.

While it's probably a great saw, it's in the sawstop area price wise. If that saw has any benefits over the SS, they would be too small to out way the technology.

I am not trying to turn this into a SS debate, but they changed the dynamics a bit because they have something nobody else does.

Used prices are VERY dependent on location so I wouldn't normally be much help sitting up in CT. However, this seems way overpriced to me. So much so that I wouldn't even waste my time with him/her - if they are starting there they are delusional and will be too difficult to deal with until the thing sits out there for a month or more…. probably even then

IDK if it is NOS, and never used. Not worth more than 50% of retail if sold in USA.
Maybe worth 60-70% if it was sold in Canada, and parts outlet was readily available.

Besides, I can get a barely used < 10 year old PM2000 or new Delta Unisaw with riving knife used for ~$2000-$2200. They show up on CL all the time, and sit there as they are too expensive.

Not sorry, I am cheap and #IAMAKLUTZ.

Presuming this is a used saw. If so, the price suggests my Unisaw is worth a couple grand plus. Especially if I throw in the over arm guard-dust collection, the Merlin splitter, the kick down out-feed, the various blades, including a dado, the Incra box joint jig, the tenon jig, the. . . .

A grand, or less, would seem closer to realistic, unless you were in Africa.

I agree, $3800 is way to high.
$1500 max in my book. And even then, parts for an old saw tend to get hard to find. So $1500 can become a bigger issue for a saw that you can not service in the future.
If my budget allowed the asking price. I would be looking at a brand new saw. Whatever brand you prefer.

While I'm not very familiar with the general saws this one does appear to be a NOS example, which is worth a lot for someone who wants a quality machine and doesn't want to fiddle with it. I suspect the seller knows he'll take considerably less, never hurts to start high though! It's definitely worth more than a new grizzly etc. Dare I say it may be worth more than a sawstop, to me at least. It's a nice heavy cabinet saw

Just for the record, I wasn't considering buying this saw.
I was just wanting to see how much you all thinks it's worth.

(Some of you are out of your minds), and some are very reasonable.

Of course the guy is not going to get 3,900 for it.

I'll also back up my comment that it's worth 2,500.
Show me a 3hp saw that is better for less. But then, that would be debatable, no matter what you put it against.

Just kickin tires?

I bought one about two years ago(pretty sure the same saw) for $350.00 at an auction. She was 'rode hard' and no one else was showing it much love….Wasn't looking for a tablesaw, but figured what the hell. It's got a Baldor, so even if the saw is buggered, I still win.
They're built like a tank. Changed the belts and bearings and she purrs like a kitten…

For perspective I bought my General 350, which is the right tilt version of this saw for 400 bux, and it had 7 brand new in the package WWII's along with it. Mine looks every bit as nice as this one, at least if you brush off the sawdust.

Excellent saw, but in my craziest dreams I wouldn't imagine getting 3800 bux for it, even if I still had the blades to throw in.
