I keep getting emails telling me I have a private message which turns out to be an ad for classes or literature. Any idea on how I can stop them?

I came here to look for the exact same thing!

I get these spam messages offering thousands of free plans, videos, etc. They show up in my email but when I login to LJ and click my private messages, I get an error.

Weird.

Anyway, it seems like there should be a way to block these unsolicited spam messages.

There has been enough posts on this WEB site covering spams… You have been here long enough to know the drill by now.

If it was repeated any more times people would complain about it being spam.

Nice, don’t know what I would have done without the help.

Well thought out comeback… No need for the thanks!

When I posted my reply I kind of thought that over several years of membership you might have bothered to read posts regarding spams, just as much as you expect people to read this and take notice/action/reply.

It’s an imperfect world. Always has been and always will be. I just delete them and move on.

Everyone knows their spam. With the right tools they can be blocked, all it takes is money and manpower. This site has neither, as well as most sites like ours. You can get a spam bicker (even Gmail does that), or you can chose to do what 99% of us do. Your choice.

Hmm..I just block the sender, and then delete to email…..if I can flag it, I would.

Then, back to woodworking. Have bigger issues at the moment…can’t walk much, Spinal Stenosis Lumbar affecting the right hip, and down the leg….

I just expand the screen to 110%. The e-mail notices are now off the right side of the screen.

Have your say...
