A couple of weeks ago I was looking through the Projects and I see a lot of guy here have built and post it. I like the design so I decided to give it a try. I had some Ribbon Sapele and Birdseye maple on hand so that’s what I used.

Thats a very pretty box, AG. Spaele compliments maple very nicely, have to store that in the memory bank.

I have to tell you about the horizontal inlays on the ends of the box. I think the project would have been better without them. With out them it would be cleaner look. I’m not usually into a lot of “bling” you might say.

Anyway those horizontal inlays are to cover up that I mistakenly put dados on the wrong side of the part. That’s where the drawer runners were to go. I had already milled the ends so I couldn’t just turn them over. I didn’t have any more Birdseye Maple so that’s the rest of the story.

Thanks for looking.
