Do you mean the hand held like Tridon says, or a benchtop? I have the WEN benchtop. Stroke was longer than most. Quite happy with it.

X2 with the WEN benchtop. I got mine last week and am very
satisfied with it. it makes LOTS more noise than I anticipated.
other than that, I like it. (so far).

By the pictures, all but the PorterCable seem to be at least the same case. Personally, I will never buy another PorterCable. Check the specs to see if the stroke and speed are the same.

I’ve got the WEN $94 at Walmart free shipping to my front door 2-3 years ago. Also like John said it sure is noisy Ear muffs are a must and I really like how I can hook it up to my shop vac to cut down on the dust.

Then it makes the decision real easy as the only one made seems to be the same no mater who sells it.
WEN is $55. Grizzly $100, Tridon $120.

I have the PC121 sander and I can assure you it’s not junk. It’s only recently that PC has been slated to compete against Ryobi.

The 121 is old school heavy duty porter cable meant to last a lifetime.

Some people have bad experiences for whatever reason and have the 3 out of 100 reviews that are 1 star with the balance being much higher. I’ve had good luck with any of the PC tools I’ve had. Do your own research and don’t limit it to the few.

I have not used it yet, but picked up the version sold by Eagle/MLCS. Looks just like the Triton, think I paid $80 with extra Sleeves. It is priced at $86 today. https://www.eagleamerica.com/product/v415-7648 It did include the table clamps though. I have the Ridgid bench top, but wanted something portable. Dan

Jack – I have looked at the hand-held portable spindle sander
over the past couple of years and I never considered it for anything
other than a novelty in my case because I don’t build furniture anymore.

just out of curiosity, what would you use it for the most ?

Thats a fair enough statement on doing your own research Darrel. You’re a pretty straight shooter and I don’t doubt you’ve had good luck with your Porter Cable tools.
I’m one of those 3 that gives a 1 star review anymore. Porter Cable used to be a top quality professional brand, but IMO,IME, they are now crap comparatively speaking to what they used to be ‘back in the day’. Black and Decker has ruined a once top shelf brand.
The tools are now subpar…
You can’t get parts for a LOT of the older tools anymore.
The techs at the Dewalt repair depot in Calgary were(they shut down) incompetent to say the least.
The Dewalt rep for western Canada came to my shop and pretended to care until he figured out I wasn’t buying his bullshit excuses. Then he wasn’t so interested in helping.
I’ll never buy another brand owned by B&D again.

Before I went to an air sander I used Bosch electric ROS ones. They worked good and cost about $60. Best thing though was there is almost no hand vibration. Compared to my Dewalt (a nice unit too), it was a huge difference. You can sand for a long time and your hand doesn’t tingle.
