I have a second hand Makita 1430 – 14” miter saw , it is missing a safety cover over the blade and also when you take your finger off the trigger it takes a long time to stop spinning. I tried changing the brushes but there was no improvement. Do I need to change out this part? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Makita-526006-5-5260065-Field-For-LS1020-LS1400-LS1430-2401B-Miter-Saw/271268778413?epid=1903923600&hash=item3f28e111ad:g:kOkAAOxyUSFSIlu6

That looks like their motor magnet with the windings I doubt that’s your problem if that was your problem this all wouldn’t work at all

I’ve got the first Gen Makita 12” CSMS. Like your the blade keeps turning for quite a while after the trigger is released.
I wish this thing would give up the ghost so I could justify a new Bosch. I have to use a Wixey protractor to set all the angles as the stops are ridiculously sloppy. Also there’s no for anything close to saw extraction. I’ve had this thing since ‘97.

Have your say...
