Topic tags/keywords: tucker vise veritas rare collectible

Hey Everyone, Ive had this vice for a while now and it’s just been sitting around. its essentially brand new never been mounted or used just unpackaged. Im well aware of what these Vises are worth and the last 2 to sell on eBay went for 2300 and 2800$ USD. Im looking to sell mine for just under 2300$ USD. Which put us at $3100 CAD. If you would like to see pictures or have any other questions please shoot me a message with your number and we can discuss further. Vise is located in CALGARY, AB and can be shipped at buyers expense.

I now own my second original Emmert vise, which Veritas took inspiration for the Tucker, after making the mistake of selling my first one. I never experienced sellers remorse like it before and immediately went on the hunt for my current vise. Seeing that the Tucker vise sold new in the US for $500, what makes it so prized now?

It can’t be solid gold, that would be too soft. I second the question, Why is it worth that much?

I bought a Tucker vise new for $700 Cdn. I’d never sell it and use it all the time. Fantastic vise but would never pay collector prices for it. There are those who will though. Rob Lee has said on another forum that the original tooling was damaged and there was a chance in the future that it may be manufactured again. That was about 10 years ago.

In answer to what a Tucker vise is worth, and why so much. If it sells in the wild at the Bay, that is what it seems to be worth. Seller doesn’t mention the shape those 2 were in, but NIB unused is hard to top.

But what makes it worth the price? Collectors item or usefulness?

I’m no expert at collecting, but I’d guess there’s a lot fewer around than Emmert vises. They are every bit as good if not better and you rarely see one for sale. I’ve seen three for sale in 10 years although I haven’t really been looking.

Nice, let’s talk. I haven’t posted enough to message you, just come here to read, so you will have to message me. I am real, designing a new bench and am considering using pattern vise.

the one thing i don’t like about ebay is the way they push prices higher than they should be. people who don’t know what the value of what they have over price them and there is always somebody who will pay the price. The when Joe wants to sell his widget he check ebay for price and sells his for a little more and so you see junk for sale at a high price
