Topic tags/keywords: question dust collector

I’m trying to convince a friend of mine what a great group this is! He was asking about replacement bags for a homebuilt dust collector system so I told him I would throw it out here. The plastic bag sits on the floor and hangs below a 55 gallon drum. The bag he has measures 35” x 57” long and fits over the circumference of approx. 73”...
If anyone has ideas, please let me know!!!

Has he considered the heavy duty plastic bags for yard debris? Use some duct tape, or maybe a ratchet strap to hold it in place on the drum.

P.S. he is missing out on a lot of helpful information.

Here's one possibility Mike. Is this just catching dust? If there are any larger debris, he would probably need something with a heavier wall thickness.

I’d just sew one up with a drawstring around the top or use a huge hose clamp.

cheers, Jim

and other than LJ forum members giving out suggestions (I wouldn’t be where I am now without 98% of them)... who knows. DIY dust collector? Maybe your friend could share his experience with others here and find common interests!
