Will SawStop T-Glide Fence work on other saws?

I was curious if the SawStop T Glide Fence assembly would work with other table saws? Will it work as long as the square tubing on the front is the same size? Or is it more complicated than that? I currently have a Steel City 35600 and the fence is fine but I'd love to upgrade it. The rails are fine but the fence assembly itself could be better.

Thank you!

IF the hole alignment is same it's a load and go type of thing. Otherwise you may need to make a new hole or 2. But yes it can easily be done. Rather than tapping a hole in the cast iron edge of your saws table top, it would be better to drill out the tube, or angle iron/extrusion of the "rails" you are mounting to, so they match the holes in the cast iron saw top. Once the Saw Stop rail was mounted, the fence wouldn't know it wasn't a Saw Stop, no brake on the fence rail aspect of the saw.

Rails are drilled out for use on another saw all the time. It wouldn't weaken anything to do so for the purposes of running a fence along the rail, it's merely a guidance system, hardly any weight is borne on the rails. Generally I am a sissy about drilling stuff out, for fear of weakening the part, but on a TS rail, it's never been a problem on any of a number of them I have seen drilled out.

Back when, EVERYONE wanted a Unifence on whatever saw they had. Rails were drilled out all the time.

I was mainly trying to make sure that the SawStop fence rails didn't have anything special about them that worked with the sawstop fence assembly like if it was extremely slick or something. My fence rail is powder coated I believe and was thinking about just buying the fence assembly itself (~$175) and using the rails that are on my saw now.

Would a picture of the underside of the SS fence be helpful..there is nothing special about the SS rail….just a smooth tube.

I think it's probably fine. My guess as to the only difference between the tubes is type of paint finish. I think it would probably work fine. I'll probably try it when I have the funds. Thanks for the input ya'll!
