Topic tags/keywords: aspire cnc

Can anyone point me to a good tutorial on re-sizing and editing (sectioning in half) STLs in Aspire?

I currently model in Sketchup (and occasionally Fusion and TinkerCad), and would like to be able to tweak models prior to carving on the CNC…
Thanks!

Take a look at Mark Lindsay’s series on youtube for vectric for absolute beginners. I’ve watched them all, but don’t remember if he as one on exactly what you are trying to do. I know that he has at least one on working with stl files.

You could also look into the Vectric tutorials.

There’s no easy way of editing .stl files.
If you want simple resizing, you can do that when you import into Aspire.

Not sure what you mean by sectioning in half? Perhaps the slicing option. Vectric has tutorials for these.

You might want to look at Meshlab, which is probably your best bet for editing .stl files.
