I take a bike trip most every year, mooch a bed off my cousins. Actually a nice change to visit, they seem to act like they enjoy it too! I do like to leave a small handmade token though. Last year, I had a handful of bottle openers. I have handed out a few pens too, though I can not remember who has received what.

Assuming the virus backs down by July- what might I be able to make this year? Simple stuff, hope I can spend 20 or 30 minutes per item. Maybe something I can batch out. Physically small (travelling by motorcycle).

Thought about page holders, but they are pretty simple, and who reads paper books anymore. No kids around the fam anymore, so toys are out.

Other ideas?

I have made pot scrappers or page markers(leaf shape) or small Cedar mushrooms for potted plants?

Might not be small enough, depending upon how many you need to take by motorcycle, but this is one of my go-to projects for a quick gift I can slap together. First one might take an hour or so but after you’ve made one, they go pretty fast. People love them.

No one would even know what a cribbage board is anymore.

Small? What is the problem?

Butter knives, and maybe butter dishes.

+1 spoons. I like the idea of the spoon that rests on the rim of the pot.

Hey, some good ides, thanks! I like the trivets, whistles are always fun. Spoon/ pot scrappers, well I’m not a great carver. It occurred to me that I can kick out wooden tulips, I did some for the teachers at V-day. I can leave the stems off for transport. Like those trivets though!

thanks.

Here is my small gifts from the past- the only dimension that really matters – the penny needs to sit 5/16 above the surface, or you can not get a cap under it. This number was arrived at by frequent sampling!

Everyone young and old seems to have a phone. (Accept me) I’ve seen those small wooden stands for phones with a little opening that amplifies the sound. And it’s sort of cool.
Type “wood smartphone amplifier” into google to see several different examples of what I mean.

The passive speakers are cool, it does matter a little what sort of phone a person has. The phone speakers are placed in different areas.

Buy some pizza cutters and turn the handles, ( either wood or plastic ) if you have a lathe. Almost everyone eats pizza.
