I have been a member here since 2013 and have shown many projects This morning I tried to post a new project
And was told It needed to be in a GIF or some other form? Now always before I have just taken photos From my photo page ? And it worked fine Now my problem and I know it is my error I am 82 years old and am not real handy with this computer. How do I move them from my photos page to somewhere that I can put them in the download page?
Sorry fo my ignorance

Dee 1, first thanks for sharing so many really nice wood small scale equipment pieces.

I can only show how I send a picture to this site. I let them host it, this takes away a need to go through a third party which sometimes is confusing.

I also keep the pics on my computer as .jpeg files.

First I need to know where the picture is located on my computer, they can be summoned from anywhere on your computer, but for ease I usually use my desktop.

First you need to decide which forum to use. For a new project of your own making, I would use skill share. Under the “forums” tab, click that, then click “show all forums”. Then the top one will be “Woodworking Skill Share” pick that one.

Near the top of that section, go to “start new topic” From here you pretty much can fill in everything you will want to add to your post.

Add a title, then you can put in some text to explain what you have.

There are 4 buttons on that pane in a brownish color. Left to Right they read as I have them listed top to bottom..

B, for BOLD

I leaning to the right for Italics

The a linked chain. this is for outside, or even links within the site. To use that you type something as in SOMETHING

What I did was typed something, hilighted it, like I was going to copy and paste it, and then put in the URL from the Google of the word something. It’s now that link you see in blue. Clicking it, will take you from here, to Google to the page showing SOMETHING.

Or

You can simply describe a link, and just copy and paste it below your description. I like that option because you can stay here, and by opening a new window paste that link in, and go there, without leaving here. Some places on the internet, don’t seem to like you using the back button, so having another page open, when you are done, all you need to do is close that page, going back to the page you were on here, everything is just like when you left.

https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=something

Lastly is the IMG button, and this is for taking an image on your computer, and dropping it into your text here.

Start by clicking on “IMG”

A drop down box will open

Click Browse, then using the choices within your computer, go to where you keep the pic, or to your desktop if you have moved it there.

Once you find the right picture, click it in the choices. It will take it, and show it now, next to browse.

Makes a landing spot for your picture in your text, by clicking your mouse where you want the pic to drop in.

Then just click “insert this image”

Viola…..

Pictures.

Looking forward to your new post.

Click on my lumberjocks and select new project
and click on “Yes, I want to post my finished project that is made of wood”

After a title is made go to 1 choose picture
and you will be directed to your files on your own computer. Select your picture (one at a time) and click open. Now you are back at LJ and can click on 2 download picture

Now you should see your picture.

Maybe the question I shouldd be asking is How do I change all the pictures on my Computer to Jpegs? Or do I really want To? I have almost 5000 pictures on my Apple iMac.

Doubt you need to change all your photos?
There is a size limitation for uploaded pictures. Does the error message mention the picture size limits also?
Newest camera phones can take HUGE pictures that can be too large to upload. If you compress the image, crop the image, or reduce the resolution; it might fix the upload problem?
I don’t own/use iMac anymore, so can’t provide any further support on photo editing to make it work.

Thank you guys for your help, I am now wondering if my problem could be my iPhone settings? I will search the settings on my phone to see if the problem is of my own making?
I I just changed a button my iPhone photo section and I was able to choose the photo so I deleted all the photos of latest project and will take a few more and will try again Later
Thank you all I know this is all a problem of my own Making?
