The wide floor attachment I use with my shop vac kept sticking to the floor when I was trying to vacuum. Couple that with having to bend over to vacuum because the wand was too short, it was getting very irritating. There are several ways to address this problem but here is my fix:

I decided to modify the foot by heating it on both sides and pushing a piece of 1-1/2” pvc into it. That produced the slight U-shaped ends you can see in the picture. Still picks up stuff fine but no more sticking to the floor.

I also heated up a piece of 2” PVC and made a slight bend in it, then heated the ends and made them work with my vacuum pipes. One end goes over and the other goes in. This gives me enough of a different angle and extra length for the wand so now I can stand upright to vacuum. It helps.

One of mine came with notches for that very reason. A solution so over due.
