Can you tell me the difference between these two cans of SealCoat?

They are the same.
Home Depot like many big boxes – has their OWN part number attached to products. They do this for Dewalt Cordless Drills and GE refridgerators (and other stuff) as well.
It is a really kind of sleazy tactic that gets them out of ever having to honor their “Price Match Guarantee”
They can just say Sorry but your advertisement from Rockler or True Value etc. is not for the EXACT same thing.

If it is a purely technical question (lb cut) – ask for the MSDS sheet for the product, and you will have the shellac % to compare.

Great. Thanks so much. Home Depot must buy a lot of cans so a manufactor to take the time to make cans just for them.

I’m really gald to find that out because Rockler was out so I got the stuff from Home Depot and haven’t used it yet I wanted to wait until I found the answer. Well now out to the garage to seal some wood.

Both products are the same.
They are 100% wax free as a result of the patented process that Zinsser uses to refine shellac.
Testing results from my laboratory (the Reed Project) show that this product contains no detectable shellac wax.

I bought 4 cans of tuna at Kroger yesterday. Same blue label, same fish, but 2 said Kroger and 2 said Ralph’s.
Trrew the checker for a loop (kroger owns Ralph’s). It’s easy to print labels.
