Hi,
I just put up a blog and tried to embed a video, with no luck.
I used the www.gorissen.info/Pierre/files/YouTube_code.htm to generate code and insert in the text as I usually do, but LJ just stalls and I cant continue…
Tried also to put it in the comments, but here it was not possible also.
What do I do wrong? What can I do right? Laughs.
Best of my thoughts,
Mads
Just tried also just the code from Youtube and that will not work also.

(Tried to send this as a message, but got no reply, so I try here also, just ib case it’s the site that are making troubes, so my mail can’t get through also).

Super, just tried again and got the ‘you have been blocked’ message.
Pls. let me know when it works again.
(It must be difficult, with layers of code, to figure it out, a data explorer).
Best of my toughts,
Mads

First, bring it up on YouTube… Then, Right Click on the video window, Click “Copy video url at this time.”, Paste into the URL line of browser.
Does the video play?

If so, while in LumberJocks, preparing a post, Prepare… “Please watch THIS Video.” and enter it… Now, select the word “THIS” then click the Link avatar, and Paste into the Link.

Click Preview and test the link by Clicking “THIS”... You should see the Video on YouTube…

Hope this helps…

I had this problem previously, just tested again and the first time I was blocked. Second time I had to pass a captcha, the video embedded, but wouldn’t play and eventually gave me an error. I’ll try again in a post below.

edit, no trouble the 3rd time.

I looked at this again today and the forum doesn’t like the formatting produced by: http://www.gorissen.info/Pierre/files/YouTube_code.htm

Try this code generator.
https://scriptgenerator.net/valid-xhtml-youtube-embed-code/

If you want one with more features, google “youtube xhtml code generator”

Until Cricket spins her magic web (or whatever crickets do rather than bat, ball, bowling and running between wickets), JL’s above suggestion seems the simplest.

You can sweeten up the deal by some lolly vouchers, otherwise uploaded relevant picture into your LJ comment and then highlighting the upload (between the exclamation marks, including the exclamations) and click on the <-> icon and paste the URL of your YouTube/DropBox/whereever link in the prompt… You would still need instructions like click on this picture...

Note: I have uploaded the video to my cloud storage and when I zipped off, I was just getting the URL of the video from my cloud storage (dropbox/YouTube/wherever) and the pasted into the link.

CLICK ON THE PICTURE BELOW: to view a short video of the method…

Ok thank you woodknack I used the https://scriptgenerator.net/valid-xhtml-youtube-embed-code/ and it works.

(A little annoying that it can’t put the proportions automatic when you want it bigger, so one have to sit and test fit, but now it possible).

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Can’t scale them to match the pictures.

You can see here on the blog post:
https://www.lumberjocks.com/mafe/blog/130712

Even I chamge the size in the html, it stays the same…

Yep, I tried several ways, couldn’t get them to scale up either.
