You misunderstand. I didn’t say this was Bethlehem olive wood from the holy land. Only that it was olive wood. An olive pen blank from Rockler is $5 or $7 for “authentic” holy land wood. Even if it’s olive wood from Cleveland it’s a bargain as olive wood makes for nice pen blanks. That’s all.

By the way, I question the authentic authenticity of some of the authentic holy land olive wood with the certificate of authenticity. :-) I’ve made a few of those pens for people who wanted them.

??
Are you saying I can cut olive wood into 3/4” square pen blanks, and sell a single blank for $3-$5 each?
Don’t turn pens, so this is new information to me.
Thanks in advance.

Engage brain out loud:
pen blank = 3/4×3/4×6, means ONE bdft nets 24 pen blanks?
24×3=$72 bdft? Whoa.
A bargain price is $1=$24 bdft. Double Whoa.

Have a pile of cherry, walnut, and curly maple pen blank sized scraps I have stashed thinking same day maybe, just might make a pen or 200. Not a fan of lathe work personally, so they sit and gather dust. :-)

At < 50 cents each that domestic wood blanks sell for online, have never thought selling project scraps was worth trouble.
On a whim, bought several sexy looking 5’ long 4/4 olive slabs just waiting for next box project(s). Better go back and buy the rest of the slabs, IF they have this kind of value.

Thanks for sharing. This thread make’s me go, hmm…..

Not surprising considering you guys wanted an American to be PM.

I’ll see your drama teacher wearing well applied black/brown face and raise you an old man that despite using it every day, can’t apply self tanner without a 1 inch white wall.

Trying hard to not make this political but since I’m the OP…..
We’ll take the drama teacher clown in brown face and you can have our guy and any 4 of his cronies already in prison. That’s a 5 for 1 trade! Such a deal.

Olive wood makes nice pen blanks. :-)

A fellow Lumberjock was selling walnut pen blanks for a dollar each, I bout about 150 for my wife. He thought he was a little slow sending them, so he threw in 10 Mahogany blanks, that has become my favorite pen stock, it is supposed to machine well, but I love the smell and look of it.

Perhaps they could take our clown and use the universal healthcare to diagnose and treat him. I can’t imagine them wanting any of them to tell you the truth. Like letting in a mafia family.
