Topic tags/keywords: wood type species help

hey guys. Was wondering if you could tell me what kind of wood this is. And if it’s worth sealing to cure. Or just keeping for firewood. Thanks !

Not sure where you live but here in Northern Alberta if that wood isn’t sealed very quickly after cutting it turns to firewood all by itself! Does look like Birch, nice wood to work with and nice to turn.

The name doesn’t tell you if it’s suitable for a woodworking project. Try cutting or planing it.
