I have a jet bench top drill press. I’ve had this drill press for years that I got for free. The catch is it doesn’t have an adjustable table. Do any of yall.have any good ideas on how I could build a table that would connect to the base? Thanks yall

if you have used it for years, what has changed that it no longer works for you?

pretty sure that used to be a six foot tall floor mounted model
and someone cut the pipe down, for whatever reason.
the base is tapered so you will not be able to attach anything to it.
I am seeing not enough pipe to mount the original table back to it.
options:
look for a table on the internet classifieds and replace the pipe.
build a box that with an adjustable shelf-like top
very cumbersome as it is.
my vote is get rid of it – or buy the parts necessary to put back in usable (safe) condition.

Thanks for replying John. I have never used it. I got it from my old job that drilled bowling balls

I didnt know that it was cut down. I’ll probably get rid of it, it doesnt do me much good the way it is. Thanks for the information

Actully it appears to a be the drill press in a dedicated bowling ball drill machine from the likes of Jayhawk Bowling Supply and Equipment Inc:

Maybe a bowling ally would be interested in it and you could get some $$ for it.

The column is too thin a diameter to have originally been a floor drill press. Measure the column diameter and see if any of the spare parts vendors for jet or some of the other benchtop DPs or maybe Grizzly will sell you a new column assembly with the table.

It’s a bastardized floor standing model.

New, It’s an $800.00 dollar drill press(from what I can see on the interwebs). If the top end is in good shape it might be worth a call to jet to get some pricing on replacement parts.

Or….might be a boat anchor.
