I was cleaning things and opened the base of my olde Delta 14” bandsaw for the first time in years. I found an Ittura catalog from 2007 (no, I won’t sell it). Is he still around, anyone done business there lately? -- ShopCat |

It’s been some years since I bought anything from him, but I see Highland is selling his tension springs for the 14” cast iron bandsaws. No idea if that means he is still in business. It will be interesting to see what others say. -- Our village hasn't lost it's idiot, he was elected to congress. |

I spoke to him about a year ago and bought a tension spring from him. David |

I’ve never bought anything from Louis, as since I have been really into bandsaws he’s never been readily available. He’s in, then gone for ages. I think the entire Bandsaw thing is very part time with him, and I worried about this in terms of buying. Back when I first heard of him, this was the general reply when people brought him up, that also went to a bad juju spot in my head. I know some folks sing his praises though. At that time I gravitated toward Lonnie Bird for knowledge, and parts. Hardly ever hear of Lonnie anymore. I think it has something to do with THEM getting old, can’t be me…. In more recent years I have become a listener to Michael Fortune, and he really changed my bandsaw game, especially about resaw. I know he’s OLD, he says so every time I hear him speak :-) -- Think safe, be safe |

Michael Fortune and Lpu Iturra – two of the best authorities on bandsaws. Michael was able to take a Rigid 14” bandsaw and make it the go to bandsaw in his shop. Gotta respect that. And Lou helped me see how critical to a bandsaws performance the blade is. -- there's a solution to every problem.......you just have to be willing to find it. |

My last purchase from Louis (all blades this time) was September of this year. Provided me some guidance on a saw issue & shipping was fast (as usual). -- Any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Dad |

Does Louis have a website? I’m curious to check this out. And I hate that every time I see the title, I sing the Carmen Sandiego theme in my head… |

I do not beleive he has a site. His catalog does provide his email along with street address & phone number in Jacksonville, FL -- Any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Dad |

I ask him about the no website thing back in 2007. He said he was thinking about it. Probably still the answer. Yeah, it’s annoying, but then again not. It’s his business, and if I ever need parts for my Delta he will be my first choice. -- ShopCat |
