The techs are actively working on a solution for the Ted’s Woodworking scammers who keep changing IPs and finding every possible loophole to promote their spam. In the meantime, we have been locking the accounts multiple times a day. For now, when you see it, please ignore the posts and/or block the scammer.

I have been on vacation and will return 12/9.

No worries. I just ignore the posts. Thanks for the effort.

Have a nice holiday.

Cricket,

If the Techs are specifically Targeting TED, they will FAIL.

They have to be more General… For example:
If a New person starts off Posting 5+ within the Starting time of the Account, IMMEDIATELY put a STOP on the Account. Prevent them from posting in ANY WAY… PM’s, General Posting, Replying, ANYTHING!

Another way: If anyone, regardless if New or old account(s), if they start posting Very quickly a huge amount, of the same thing, within a 5 minute period, STOP their Account until they are checked out.

If such logic were in place here, they would have been caught FAST! ... and Stopped.

The key is to FORGET about targeting “The Ted Poster”... institute logic that will catch Anyone and Stop them until they can be checked out.

OK?

That would nail them solid…

Does that mean that you don’t want us to flag them for now at least?

Yeah, I think she wants us to just flag him if he shows up again. Every time we flag him she gets a message and knows to do something. Truth be known, after he’s been on for 15 minutes, somebody has already flagged him and it’ll be removed as soon as the crew get’s to it.

It’s nice to know Cricket is doing what she can. We all appreciate the update. Everytime I get Teddy’s scam PM’s, it’s through the PM. I just ignore and click delete.

The spammer appears to be a “Clickbank” affiliate meaning he gets a commission for every sale he generates. Clickbank is the company that provides the infrastructure for the affiliate marketing. They are a big company and have their network abuse policy here. It says to file a complaint here.

If they get a flood of complaints, they would probably suspend the account of the spammer (not Ted). But it would probably have to be a flood, and thats not to say the spammer couldn’t try to create another account and try again.

I guess you could also complaint to them about Ted itself (e.g. fraudulent product) as opposed to the spammer.

Personally, not a big deal to me, I just delete the spam emails that come in.

If I were to complain to the company, I’d use a burner email. What this joker is doing borders on criminal, in my book.

Its not Clickbank doing the spam, its just their billion dollar platform. They could cancel the spammer’s account, in which case he would have no more motivation to spam. But Clickbank makes money from it, so they won’t do anything unless there are a lot of complaints.

Complaining to the spammer himself or “Ted” is undoubtedly is a waste of time.
