Thank you John….I served in the U.S Army from 1966-72, was a combat vet in VietNam in 1967, and was wounded 3 times while serving there. I’ve been retired since 1972 because of wounds received in combat. I was proud to serve my country, and would gladly do it again. I’m 72 now, lost some friends there, and I’ll never forget my experience while serving in Southeast Asia. Thank you to all the vets that served, and thank you for your service to our country.

Served in the Persian Gulf during the so-called Tanker War, when Iraq and Iran both indiscriminately attacked shipping in the region, including attacks by both countries on US Navy ships. It certainly could have been worse. I have USMC cousins who served in Vietnam and one my age who flew an F/A-18 during Desert Storm. My father fought in the Eighth Army in the Pacific. It’s been 31 years and I still consider each of my shipmates my brothers.

Some day I hope we stop making veterans, but I won’t hold my breath.

Thanks to all my fellow vets in all branches for your service.

+1, Thank you.

Deafness in my right ear kept me from serving but I wanted to. Navy wanted me as a pilot too. Man I wanted to fly.

Thank you again.
