We Aussies here at lumberjocks are somewhat out numbered by the very very talented North American’s. This post is about an extraordinarily talented Australian woodworker.

Mr Geoff Hannah OAM, For his work he was awarded the Order of Australia medal by the Queen of England and has produced furniture pieces for Her Majesty. His story and talent is extraordinary with a very humble workshop underneath his house.

I recently learnt he lives and works just 30 minutes from my farm in Northern NSW Australia

His Hannah cabinet website

And One of many you tube videos.

Anthony, I either saw this or something very familiar a few years ago. I don’t remember if he was one. Either way it’s amazing.

“The Yarralumla Cabinet” He worked on it over a 6 year period.

You have to wonder how many pieces he has going at once, and how big his storage space is?

Beautiful work.

Well Tony, your dreams are WAY ahead of my dreams
I’m pretty sure him being called a master craftsman is still shy of his talent

The Hannah cabinet is definitely fit for ONLY a Queen. There are few works of art deserving of the greatest people. If I had a piece of furniture like that, I would keep it locked up in a humidity controlled vault.
