I’ve had a buddy of mine email and indicate that he can’t sign up for LJ’s. He’s a really good woodworker. He keeps getting an error.
I signed out and tried to sign up with another name and got the same error page. I’ve contacted the moderators twice with no response after a few days. Can anyone shed any light on this issue?

Here’s an image of the web page message that is given if you try to sign up on LJ’s. For some reason it says that the owner has banned my ip address, but that’s not even my IP address. I’m on LJ’s right now with my regular log-on as I always am. Just no new people can join?

I’ve seen the same complaint from some others on a different forum…they can’t seem to join LJ and get no reply when contacting them.

Don’t know for sure but I think the mods had to restrict new members to stop that spammer a couple of weeks ago. That was when the spammer would create new member profiles and then immediately abuse the platform’s features, at first it was private messages to members, then it was the spamming comments on posts. Hundreds, maybe thousands of them.
I can’t imagine its a permanent solution but more a stop gap measure.

Yes, twice a few days apart. No reply.
