What is the point of the screw or lag bolt going to the leg in a corner brace (in a table for example). I've made wooden corner braces before but only screwed them to the apron and not the leg since I was afraid to screw through the tenon.
As LeeRoyMan mentions…It also keeps the legs from breaking free and becoming lose if kicked. At some point a leg becomes lose it can keep it from coming off and can be re tightened…
