Shedding a tear for member Scott Clark who passed away today. I met Scott here on lj last year and it turned out we only lived 10 mins away here in the Seattle area. We became instant great friends and would get together a few times a month but would text and talk several times a week about all sorts of stuff mostly unrelated to woodworking.

We were working on a number of projects together, one of which were 2 bassinets. One for my nephew and one for his son who is soon to be married. Scott was concerned that because of his health he might not get his finished. I promised him that if anything happened to him I would build his for his son. I intend to keep that promise.

EDIT-His daughter called and asked if i would make an urn for his cremains. Gonna make it out of that chunk of walnut burl crotch in the picture. He was pretty proud of that chunk of wood.

Best thing I found on this site is my new woodworking partner Andy!

Thanks Andy for all your help
And to this site fore helping me find him scott

I miss you buddy.

Wow, I remember his name screenname. That’s really too bad to hear he passed away. He doesn’t look very old and I have to remember that life is too short.

So sorry to hear this, Andy. Losing a friend and a fellow woodworking buddy is not easy. Beautiful bassinets you both built and collaborated on. Scott’s will be a lasting legacy of him for his family.

R.I.P. Scott.

Really sorry to hear you lost a friend like that, Andy. May he rest in peace. It is like you lost a little part of you when you lose someone like that who you can so freely talk to about anything.

So sorry, Andy. The bassinets and urn will be lasting tributes to Scott. I’m sure he’s smiling.

No doubt. It’s just weird having taken that picture then using that wood to make his urn.
