Topic tags/keywords: question bandsaw hobby machine

Hi guys!
Im starting build my hobby workshop. I found a man who sell his Harvey HW614E ( Actually is chinese’s name of Laguna LT14 SUV, Harvey company is OEM of this bandsaw for Laguna). It’s cost about 1000$ for one year used ( New cost about 1400$). In my country is hard to find western bandsaw like this ( only other option is WoodFast BS350 made in China too). Should I pick that bandsaw??? Thank u guys!!!

I can’t say as to wether that’s the right call for what you typically build or if it’s the best option of what you have available, but I do love my 14suv. I bought one used as an upgrade from an old delta and it’s been a freakin amazing machine to work on.

Nothing wrong with a Laguna bandsaw. One year of use on that machine should still be like new. I have a 1412 which is a step or two down from the SUV and I absolutely love it. The SUV has a brake and two dust ports and sells for $1999 at Rockler. And I think the casters are built in.

BUY IT!!

I also have had my 14 SUV for many years. Many happy years. Great saw. Mine does not have casters, but not important because I bolted it to the concrete floor. Hope it’s not already sold.

Do you need it, do you want it…can you afford it?
