I mashed up my Shopsmith spur drive center turning chisel handles out of Chetchen and Purpleheart. I did drill a pilot hole but I should have cuts an x’ed groove too. (Found that tip here in an old thread for 2012.)

Well, now that it’s time for a new drive spur I looked on ebay and found this nifty set. I like the sturdy spurs and the toothed spurs might work better for harder wood. (Yes, I know that I need an 5/8’ to 1” x 8tpi adapter but that’s easily sourced.)

Several vendors seem to offer the exact same set, it’s just a matter of overall price. PSI and PennState seem to be good choices.

Does anyone have feedback on this set? Or a preferred supplier?

Reply to my own thread. I received the drive center set and adapter for my Shopsmith 5/8” arbor. Well worth the money spent. The Amazon reviews note rough machining and swarf and I can confirm that. It doesn’t have any effect on functionality. Arrived just in time for the weekend too!
