That depends on the type of sprayer you are using.

I use both cup guns and hvlp sprayers. The cup gun is much higher pressure than the hvlp.

I put inline regulators on the end of all my sprayers to make fine adjustments until I get the correct spray pattern that I want. The number is less important.

spend at least a day practicing on scrap there are a lot of variables involved (temperature, humidity, tip size, air pressure, spray pattern, application rate, etc) which will affect the resulting finish and you should experiment with your setup to get the best results you can
pre-cat lacquers dry quickly so you can try several things :<)))

No. Lacquer, pre-cat or NC, will dissolve the foam.
