I used a pattern makers vise on a friend’s workbench. I found it very useful. I am having difficulty finding one. I know there are 2 manufacturers in Taiwan selling only to shops.
Thanks

The largest maker of these was “EMMERT”, and they show up EBay with fairly regularly. Word of caution, they AIN’T cheap, so make sure to save up and watch for the best deal.

I have an Emmert that was passed along to me by my father. Can’t imagine working without it. As a hobbyist, I rarely make more than one or two of anything. This vise allows you to do just about anything. Well worth the money in my shop.

Thank you all for your responses. I am in Taiwan and am trying to find one there. It is where the one described above is made. The factory only sells wholesale in bulk.
