I have spent hours trying to find a concrete answer to this and I can’t believe I’m the only person who has been here before, but here we are… I’ve got a Bosch Colt palm router (the newer style with the circular base). It’s subbase has a 1 9/16” hole in it. From what I’m reading the standard Porter Cable style threaded guide bushings use a 1 3/16” subbase opening. Bosch also makes a different subbase that it says is specifically for threaded template guides, but its center hole is 1 1/8”. So what am I missing here? I see nothing but complaints about the “native” Bosch-style quick release template guides so I wanted to try to use these threaded ones. Is there some other standard that would work with this 1 1/8” opening, or some other aftermarket subbase for the Colt or what?

Thanks!
Jeff

I just bought the one Bosch has (optional) is sized for the PC type bushings. I think I found that in the manual.

Thanks for responding, Fred. That’s the exact subbase I was talking about, but it says the opening is 1 1/8”... is that not correct? The different bushings I find (like these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07736MKMT/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1UMBRA5ZTBCX8 ) say they need a 1 3/16” opening… I realize that’s only 1/16” difference, but as snug as these should fit I’d still imagine that’s a deal breaker.

It may be a typo in the listing, but the small hole on mine measures 1 1/4”, I have 2 sets of the PC type bushings, (one’s a Shop Fox, the other is Woodcraft) and they do indeed measure 1 3/16” on the OD of the threads…they fit that sub base just fine. I’m sure those ones you linked will fit as well.
