Topic tags/keywords: question wood type identification

Hello my friends! Need some help identifying the wood type from this piece of driftwood I found. It’s VERY dense. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Yes, or possibly black locust. If either, the pores will be filled with tyloses. Could also be mulberry, but the pores in mulberry are not filled with tyloses.

I think it’s Osage orange. It has a very yellowish tint to it….and I live in North Alabama where this species is able to grow.
