I had heard of Iron Wood before but never had the opportunity to turn it. Wow, is it hard! Lots of sharpening going on, finally had to resort to carbide. But, I’m beginning to like the outcome. Finishes very nicely.

Use respiratory protection. Mexican carvers of iron wood often suffer lung damage.
