Topic tags/keywords: question

Is anyone else as annoyed as I am with the people who post links to their Youtube videos here and then don’t respond to comments?

I know they want to be the next Youtube sensation, and that’s fine, but at least participate.

You need to be more specific and explain your complaint in more detail. What you’ve posted is incomprehensible outside the confines of your own perceptions.

Rich: YES. I hammered these YouTube “wannabes” in a thread a little further down the page, but this was one point I failed to mention. If they don’t want input from their viewers, they shouldn’t ask for it.

If someone posts “Watch my video” with nothing else but the link then I ignore it.

Jerry, I was very clear in my post. There are a handful of LJ “members” who regularly post links to their latest Youtube videos. Nothing wrong with that, but they don’t participate in the thread when comments are posted about their video, and also don’t participate in other LJ threads as well. They are just dropping off links to get views.

If you’ve never seen the posts, then I can understand your confusion with my post.

I decided I wasn’t going to care more about the forum than the owners lest I be perpetually disappointed, so it doesn’t bother me.

I read this and don’‘t understand where you mean for the comments..On the LJ project? or on You tube video?
I comment on a lot of You Tube videos and very seldom get a replay but I don’t care!

Jim, I thought I was pretty clear in post #4. I’m talking about people who post links to their videos here on LJ and then don’t respond to comments posted on the LJ thread.

It sounds like I’m the only one who is bothered. I just think it’s rude to start a thread here and then not participate in it when LJs post thoughtful comments about your video.

Time to move on…

I wouldn’t say I’m annoyed, more like expected. I’ve been a member of various other types of forums, etc for years. Several years ago, everybody thought they could become a big youtube star and quit their day jobs. It got so bad on a big fitness board that the forum moderators began banning people that posted links to their youtube channels, removed any links (you actually couldn’t even post links until you had posted x times). I guess over the past 10 years or so I have learned to tune it out.

i agree rich it’s very rude in my opinion to not thank people for checking out their videos, also i dont like members that post a project and never thank those that leave nice comments,i appreciate and always try and thank each person individually.

I usually don’t even watch them until I see someone comment on something about it that I may find interesting.
It is rude that they don’t return comments.
Most of them are slow hillbilly videos anyway.
