Topic tags/keywords: nakashima modern pine question

Not sure if anyone has seen this video on YouTube but it was called the “2×4” challenge on the Modern Maker Podcast channel.

Anyway, one entry was a Nakashima-inspired chair that looked like his “Concordia” style.

I was wondering if anyone had a good link to the maker, or knew where I could get some more information about that build.

I really like that chair.

Thanks.

You will get more response to your post if you actually include the link to the video.

You can go through the hashtag on Instagram #two2×4challenge

The only ones I noticed that roughly fit that description would be the one from Chris (Foureyesfurniture) or SawDustBureau.

Most, including me, are not going to be searching through the internet to find the video.

Agreed, that’s why my response was for TheBadLt.

Video is here.

The chair is at about 24:57.

@jclee1994 is the Instagram of the maker but there isn’t any related info on the build or a video.

I have found it hard to locate Nakashima project plans (for obvious reasons because they still produce/sell furniture) but was just wondering if anyone had ever come across any good ones.

Thanks.

Your best bet might be to break down the chair into its parts, learn the joinery, sketch and dimension each one, then build a prototype from pine and see how it goes.

He changed his Instagram name to j.christian.lee , he posted a couple pictures of his build that show his assembly process. I’m sure he’d also be willing to answer any questions you might have.

Fun fact, I’m a big fan of the Podcast and also participated in the challenge, I got judged at 17:30 in the video.

You the man!

I was wondering why I couldn’t find him on Instagram.

Definitely going to check that out, and go watch your project.

Thanks!
