I ran across this on Craigslist today, looks like a good buy but I don’t know much about this DeWalt planer. Are they any good. I know there is a better model than this but for a small time hobby person, would this be a decent one. Asking $50 suppose be in good shape and has extra new set of blades.

That set of knives alone sells for close to $50. If it’s mechanically sound, go for it.

I probably will not get it. It is 230 miles away, but my daughter lives in that town and they will gladly pick it up for me after they get off work, if it is still available. I have contacted the seller, no response yet, but it is still listed.

RUN. Don’t walk. That is a great buy assuming nothing is missing or broken. I have had one for many years and have run many many many BF through it. Smooooth. However, if it doesn’t come with ear protection, be sure to get some.

That planer is a steal for $50.00! I have the same model and it is a beast! Blades are easy to change and easy to clean. Jump on it, just make sure it runs!

Beginning to think this could be a “too good to be true” thingy. I have not heard from the seller, and I saw were it said the item was listed 10 days ago, updated today….. Could not have been listed for 10 days, I look at Craigslist often. Maybe listed taken down and relisted for fun????

No matter, I have a Delta planer, works fine, just thought for $50 why not, has to be newer than my Delta and if I didn’t like it, I could certainly get my money back at that price.

Paul don’t send anyone you care about over there. If it’s too good to be true it probably is.
Could be a scam to rob them once they get there.
It’s not worth the risk for a bench top plastic planer.

Decoy robbery using a low-end DeWalt planer? Maybe they want flannel shirts and suspenders ;) Decoy robbers use high dollar cell phones as bait. or at least a new high dollar DeWalt model, it’s only a picture….

More likely it’s sold and the seller didn’t delete the ad.

Well, I have tried twice to make contact with the seller through Craigslist and no joy. I think it is probably gone, and the seller may not know how to delete the listing. There have been “recent updates” to the post,,, probably the seller trying to delete it. Well darn, may have missed a great buy.
