Just moved to a new space that is not equiped with 220. So I found a 1hp leeson electric motor 3450 rpm wired for 110. Put in on my table saw (old delta/rockwell contractor 12) and now I cant cut warm butter. Any one have any suggestions as what I can do to utilize the 110 in my shop? Any help is appreciated!

Do you have it spinning the right way?

Pretty much all of my equipment runs on 110. I only have one 220 outlet in my shop. Maybe you could tell us what the problem seems to be? Like Brad says, are you sure it is turning the right direction?

Yes it’s turning in the right direction. It cuts, but just bogs down to the point of the blade stopping. Even cutting 1/2” ash.

Sounds like it’s wired for 240v. Those are the symptoms of a 240v motor running on 120v. Does it spin up fast or take some time? If it’s a dual voltage motor, then double check the wiring.

Cheers,
Brad
