Not my ad. Old industrial equipment for free.

In the craigslist ad this free machine was listed.
Why is there 2 motors? Looks like one is turning the other?

I don’t know.. curious. Only thing i can think of is that the small one, if correctly pullied, might take the load off of the larger one a bit thus giving you more power????

Strange thing to do but someones big idea that might work.

Wonder if the larger motor had too large a current draw on starting, so the small motor is used to get the large one going? Don’t know.

My guess is the small motor gets the larger 3 phase induction motor going?

They wanted 10-1/2hp motor so added the small1/2hp to get it.
