I didn't know where else to put this thread, but I'm looking for anyone knowing it willing to sell me a copy of Michael O'Donnell Turning Green Wood. The prices online are ridiculous and hoping s community member here can help me out. I'd pay 40 bucks, double the cover price. Thanks
That's the first thing I tried. But it's on back order….. For a book no longer in print. Prob should have given more info. I have searched Google and the various selling sites for it before I came and posted here. Kinda my last hope in finding it at a fair price
Cool thank you. Hopefully it's still around as it's the only comparable option ATM. Going to wait a few days to see if I get a response here. Knowing my luck my post will inadvertently direct others to the dwindling supply only to be gone when I go to get it, lol.
Check Barnes and Noble local for availability, if you have friends or relatives you know that have B&N nearby check using their area code. For as many online links as their are it's just recently become hard to find, otherwise something that doesn't exist quickly falls out of the Goofle rotation. Copies are still likely on shelves. I checked 4 locations I know of people near to me, and all 4 showed store copies. They buy and mail to you, you get the book for 25 bux, and shipping cost.
BTW - most big online used book stores have wish lists.
I use Powells and Thriftbooks to find old stuff occasionally. Thriftbooks says they get 5 copies every 6 months, and there are 8 people with it on wish list? LOL
No way! @therealsteveN @CaptainKlutz Thats some great info thank you very much. Going to look right now. Cheers
Update…. Searched various areas codes and called Barnes and nobles to no avail . Also listed it under my wish list on the link provided so fingers crossed
Haha well I called it. All decent priced ones on eBay are gone as well any that were listed in post. I want to thank those that took the time to look into that for me. I knew, just like Everytime I come here, I find the answers I am looking for, really got a great community here cheers
Though next time I'm looking for something specific I might add to pm, lol
There are other articles, books, and videos on subject of turning green wood. Don't know if want book for yourself or gift to someone elese but would call Craft Supplies USA there in Utah 1-800-551-8876 for some help.
There are 4 woodturning clubs in Utah, CS might be able to get you incontact with closest one to you for help. Many club members may have a copy or no longer needed in club's library.
If all that leads to naught here is free reference to help you or yours come up with a plan for dealing with wet wood.
Thank you, I do need to reach out to the turning clubs around me, guess I have been little shy and standoffish and have not really had motivation tbh.. But you bring up a good point. Thank you for replying, and I'll post on update as to how this all resolves. Thanks again
Prob should not have posted that given what has happened lol. Jk, I was just totally lost in that link it was great! Got myself a good amount of pdf to keep me busy .
I'll def give it a try Monday (while slipping in my question in how many others were suddenly calling at the same time XD)
Appreciate the further research was nice of you to do
