Topic tags/keywords: chop saw blade forrest fine tooth blade

I’m looking to buy a new chop 12” saw blade. The ones I have all need sharpening.
100 tooth Tenyru —-80 tooth Tenyru—-60 tooth “fine tooth” saw DeWalt blade (original equipment) and —-40 tooth Irwin.

I’d rather get something I like better, then waste money on sharpening blades I don’t like that much. The Tenyru’s cut smooth but are slow and take a lot of pressure (especially the 100 tooth). The crude but fast Irwin catches the wood on the upstroke. But I’ve come to value speed more than I did in the past. 0 clearance inserts seems more effective in eliminating tear-out than increasing number of teeth so the fewer the teeth the better, as far as I’m concerned.

Ideally, I’d like a 60 tooth blade that was in the Forrest quality category. Interested in Forrest but want something that doesn’t take a lot of pressure. Open to any suggestions. Thanks.
