I’ve been using a 16 Gal.11 amp vac on a 13” planer (4” down to 2.25 with a 10’ hose) with great results. Very little filter clog. My new 6 inch jointer will plug the filter much quicker and firmer than the planer ever has with a lot less of the same type woods. Am I going to help the vac by installing a Dust Stopper? Seems like a better option than the Dust Deputy but that’s not my question. I’d like to know if the DS will help the clogging problem?
Thank you for your time.

I have not tried it with my jointer (I still need to build a chute for it) but my planer works very well with the Dust Stopper and my shop vac. It will fill up the attached bucket really quickly but very little gets into the vacuum.
