Found a SW no 3 with the “made in USA” cast into the body long ways.
Never saw that before.
Google brought one up on flea bay that buyer described as rare, but don’t put much faith in that
Didn’t see anything on Patrick Leachs site so I thought I would ask here is this plane anything special?

Bailey? Not sure, never seen that. Mine doesn’t even say made in USA. Just the 2 patent dates on back and bailey no 3 on front.

Yes it’s a Bailey with one patent date APR-19-10

In my experience, these are not rare—of my 10 or so No. 3’s, I have (3) stamped that way.

I actually went to your site to look! But I didn’t see that detail of direction. I guess since the 3 is narrower than the 4 there isn’t room. I even lookd at my 5 1/4(which is newer than my 3). So interesting all the different iterations etc.
