Saw an ad today for the new Genius 2 in 1 jig.

it looks like this:

But if you watch the demo video, the jig looks remarkably like a Kreg R3. The ad even says this, “Whether you’re crawling under a table to make a quick repair or taking Kreg Joinery on the road.” What is this thing?

Yeah, I had a good laugh at that too. Looks like they didn’t finish up their marketing video in time and just stole some clips from Kreg. Even so, how is it different… how is it better?

Looks like you can drill dowels too, but I already have a doweling jig (and I don’t use it very often).

Thanks for posting.

In their defense, at least they spelled genius correctly.

I also saw the post, may be the patent has expired and the copy cats are prowling, as Pottzy reported.

No doubt Marc’s brother will know the true story.

I will also be keeping mine for now, and ever, no money for additional tools, still playing with the Beaded Panel bit.
