Besides friends and family, what brings you the most joy?

I like to do a project with NO PLANS and from salvage material that turns out well enough for me to like.

Many years ago the woodburning shop stove saw many of mine! Hey I got some use from them-Shop Heat.

I would like to be able to get in my bass boat, and go catch some fish….Also would like to be able to be in my shop making sawdust while working on a project…..With this recent back surgery, none of this is possible yet…..!!

My list is pretty long.

Taking pictures, mostly with my iPhone.
The 1st cup of coffee every morning.
The sounds of a thunderstorm.
Bacon always brings me joy.
Cooking over a campfire.
Hiking trails by the creek.
Watching squirrels play.
Exploring old farms.
Old dirt roads.
Road trips.

Well, obviously wood working, but I also really enjoy:

worshiping & knowing that I’m going to a better place after I die
blowing snow
spreading manure
pressure washing things
cutting down trees
I second Cricket’s “first cup of coffee in the morning” :)

You asked! lol.

I think you can tell a lot about a person just by knowing what brings them joy.

A long nap on a rainy day. The bills are paid. Grinding my own coffee. A clean house. Creating things. Positive people. Spring.

A job well done, spending time working on the house or in the yard, playing guitar or mandolin, playing with the kids and aggravating my wife :)

Joy is an elusive illusion.
The older I get, the shorter the event lasts.
My favorite joy is when I can focus on any single thing, that is able to drown out the noise, confusion, hate, and evil around me. Doesn’t matter what the event really is?
Oh Joy, I have to take a crap now…..
