I’m trying to sand shade some quilted maple. This is the worst wood for shading that I’ve come across. I can leave it in the sand forever and it barely does anything. Eventually it’ll kind of shade, but it’s really uneven and looks awful. Every piece I’ve tried does this so it’s not just some mutant piece. Do you have any experience with it? Some other maples I’ve used aren’t the easiest to shade, but work better than this stuff.
