Topic tags/keywords: biesemeyer table saw fence

I was cleaning out my Dad’s garage (he’s 95) and found a brand new Biesemeyer fence in its original box—fence, rails, hardware, manual. I have no idea how old it is. One of the rails has a scale on it that ends at 43”; the length of this rail is 70”. I’ve attached some photos. It’ll be a pain to ship (quite heavy) so I’d like to sell it locally—Palos Verdes area of Southern California. I understand that around $300 would be reasonable (apologies if that’s incorrect), but I also need some tools that have to be mobile (i.e., able to be wheeled out of my garage and used in the driveway, like my jointer and planer that are on mobile carts). Need a band saw (probably 14”), drill press to replace my Harbor Freight cheapo, and was considering buying a drum sander. Of course, I can add cash if needed to make a fair deal. Haven’t used this forum yet but I’m sure you can send me a private message. Thanks, Howard

Biesemeyer fences have been around for 30+ years. Yours by the looks of it is an early one and should be more valuable than later versions. I understand later versions are not as well made as the older ones. $300 sounds like a good price if it is an older one. I believe Biesemeyer was bought by Delta and the quality went down along with their machines when they moved production to China.
