General International Maxi Lathe VS+

Located 30 miles west of Atlanta, GA

12” swing over bed ways (6” bed to center), 16” between centers

I bought this lathe new in 2007 to replace an old antique I inherited. It has served me well with no problems. I am selling to upgrade to a larger lathe and don’t have room for both.

Price new: $750 + $199 for stand + $200 for shipping and tax + $180 for additional tool rests = $1329

Features:
Variable Speed Drive 110 V AC control w/ DC motor
Rotating Headstock for outboard turning & sanding, locks in any position. Headstock also slides and locks at any position on the bed.
Oversize locking handles for headstock, tailstock and banjo.
Self ejecting Tailstock quill
Headstock spindle 1” 8 TPI
Headstock & Tailstock #2 Morris taper
Continuously variable control of 3 speed ranges (400-1500, 700-2650, 1000-3800 RPM)
30 second belt changes, no tools required
LED RPM display

Includes:
Lathe with metal stand
Spur drive
Live center
3” face plate
face plate wrench
Knock out bar
standard tool rest
6 additional tool rests of varying size & shape
Bed extension and tool rest extension for outboard turning

SPARE VARIABLE SPEED DRIVE CONTROL UNIT (a few months after purchase, the manufacturer contacted me to say there was a speed regulation problem with the VSD and sent me a new one. I installed it but could see no difference between it and the original, hence the spare unit.)
